Are you Prepared?

Are you prepared for the unthinkable? As Accounting and Financial professionals, we are accountable for some of the most important information our companies have. Are you prepared? Do you have the best controls in place to help prevent a hacker from gaining your customer’s information? Do have your data backed up in case something happens, and you lose everything?

I know these are questions that should be asked of our IT departments, however; they are also very valid concerns for the Accounting and Finance departments. We need to know that our customer’s accounts and data as well as our own will be kept safe from hackers. We also need to have that peace of mind that if for whatever reason data is lost, the data is backed up and can be easily restored. We are the central hub of our businesses. Almost everything flows our departments at some point or another, the main items being accounts receivable (AR) and payables (AP). It would be devastating to a company to lose any or all AR or AP files. It is in our interest to ensure that the data that flows through our department is kept safe and secure.

If you are not able to answer the initial question confidently, then you are not prepared. Reach out to one of our sales team members and they can help you determine what will best help protect your company from any threats. I recently came across this quote by Howard Ruff, “It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.” Don’t wait until the rain comes to protect your business, prepare for it before it comes.
