Questions We Ask

What is your timetable?

A good partner relationship stems from understanding. We want to meet you where you are now, and collaborate on where you want to go. The discussion between needing something within 2 business days or 6 months is dramatically different.

What is your 5 year plan/growth strategy?

We will address the tech pains you have now without reinventing the wheel every 60 days. While we evaluate your business’, tech needs every quarter, we want to have the long view to help inform infrastructure and other decisions. The technology you need will change as we reach your growth goals and overcome new obstacles.

What differentiates your business?

The technology we deploy needs to play to your uniqueness and strengths. We have to know what those are to ensure the best fit.

Who provides your IT/Phone/Internet service and support?

This helps us understand where you are coming from and establish the baseline of support you receive. It also provides an idea of what infrastructure is in use.

What about your current contracts?

Many businesses are locked into contracts with their Internet provider or other technology providers. Usually, with stiff penalties for early termination. We need to know so we can assist in breaking the contract or planning for its natural conclusion. The BTS Advantage is that we never lock you into a contract. We believe in earning your business every month.

What is holding your business back?

We want to make sure we can help. Not all problems are solved by throwing more tech at the issue. In fact, the bulk of problems stem from a much more human element. As such we want to know if we are tackling a technical issue (i.e. integrations, process.) or a more human one (i.e. training, management support, service issues).

What spurred this change?

We work diligently to address every pain point our partners have. This helps start the conversation of what must change and why. Typically, this answer goes hand in with what is holding your business back.

Questions You Have

How quickly can you install?

Our typical, well thought out deployments occur 3 to 4 weeks after paperwork is signed. Carrier orders or construction are the most common delays that could push that timeline out. We can deploy equipment faster if needed, but a longer timeline allows for better planning, programming and meeting your needs.

How do you provide training?

We use a mix of live in person and webinars to provide training with most deployments, along with ongoing weekly webinars for questions. When converting to new systems, we will have a trainer sit with employees for part of the day to answer questions; spending more time 1 on 1 with high usage employees (like operators/secretaries).

How long will this interrupt my business?

Telecom cutovers typically cause a 15 to 30 minutes outage. Data cutovers are about 30 minutes. We work to maximize uptime and are flexible in our scheduling.

How do we handle my current IT provider?

Before engaging with us request your administrative password. You and another key member of management should have access to this information. It is a giant red flag if your current provider will not accommodate you. That said, we work closely with many companies and competitors and the vast majority work with us to provide a smooth transition. If the current provider stonewalls us, we will use our greater partner network and vendor relationship to work around them.

How do you handle my security at transition?

We follow a NIST framework for security and that extends to our pre-deployment operations as well. Your business and its’ data are extremely important to us. Once we are given the go ahead we work rapidly to change passwords, and move you to our tech stack to provide the security you need.
