Aren't You Supposed to Be Doing Something to Keep Your Company Compliant?

There are lots of rules and regulations about financial security and HIPAA compliance.  Or maybe you are seeking cyber insurance that comes with a 30-page questionnaire…comes with complexity and all sorts of fines and penalties for errors. 

We usually see companies in one of three categories:

1. Don't Know What to Do.  This company is skating on ice hoping that nothing happens. They have a server and maybe some sort of back-up, but have never tested it.  All is working OK for now, but everyone has used the same passwords for years.  Yikes two or three times.
2. Knows Action Needs to be Taken, but Does Nothing. This company is very busy and is successful. The CEO or IT Manager is stretched and even though they know they need to be proactive they have IT projects and upgrades on the back burner. The motto here is we will get to that later. They are always reactive…to a fault…which always costs more than it should and they are always behind and dealing with problems.
3. Doing it Right. This company focuses on staying current, is adhering to "best practices", and being proactive on security.  Here is the newsflash…doing things this way is less expensive than chasing the rabbit in the options above or recovering from a major failure or ransomware attack.  It is simply planning ahead and being prepared for the normal course of business.  Insurance companies like things this way.  Financial compliance is easy to meet.  The HIPAA police don't bother you.

BTS also won numerous awards for cyber security preparedness and our competencies as a technology company. The most outstanding award went to Chairman of the Board and former President Roger Wentowski Jr. He was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his role as a business leader and philanthropic impact. Way to go Roger!

BTS sponsored the Glenn Golf Tournament in October! Shades Valley Rotary raises funds for their Charitable Foundation via the tournament. The Foundation sponsors a Birmingham Botanical Gardens intern every year and provides scholarship funding to area students.

Training:

Our commitment to providing companies with the best in technology continues unabated. Our operations department continues to work on Microsoft certifications which often take 6+ months to complete!

The BTS sales staff is receiving training from multiple vendors on security best practices and will have those trainings completed by the end of the year.

Roger Wentowski III and Brian Wakefield, in between speaking engagements at the convention, sat in on best practice discussions and came away from the convention fired up and ready to implement new ideas!
